We came together at the onset of the pandemic, worried about the impact of lock downs and restrictions and so we banded together to help each other through those difficult times.

We then decided to give our NHS workers something to look forward to and so we came up with The Whitby Thank You Weekend which we held in October 2020 where we hosted over 400 frontline NHS staff and their families for a free weekend in Whitby with free accomodation, free meals and free drinks.

The Whitby Thank You Weekend was led by Andy and Polly who at that time were owners of Highgate House, with the fantastic support of the project team: Julie Pickard, Garath Jackson, Vanessa Gummer and Phill Hesketh.

To provide some sparkle in a dark time (lockdowns) we came up with Whitby's Dazzling Christmas a real-life Advent Calendar, which took place in December 2020.

The Whitby Ice Rink was then held for the first time in 2021/22 and then again in 2022/23 to add some extra fun and enjoyment to the winter season in the town. The project team was Julie Pickard, Garath Jackson, Paul Hilton and Rebecca Mansoor.

We are now working hard to provide information and direct access to accommodation, food & drink and things to do via this website.
